Privacy notice

Who are we?

This site is run by Virture Pty Ltd (ABN 69 655 033 748). We connect homeowners with licensed plumbers. We are not the plumber.

What do we collect?

What you type into the form: your name, mobile number, street address, suburb, the problem you pick, any description you add and how urgent it is. When you send the form, we also record the time, the page you sent it from, the site that sent you to us and your IP address. This is our record that you gave consent, and it shows us which pages help people.

Why do we collect it?

To pass your request to the plumbers, so they can contact you about your job by phone, text or email. We do not ask for more than we need for that.

Do you need my consent?

Yes. We only pass on your details if you tick the box on the form. Ticking it means you agree to this notice, our terms of use, and the plumbers contacting you about this job. You can take back your consent at any time (see below).

What if I don't give my details?

You don't have to. But without your name, mobile and address, we can't pass your request on and no plumber can contact you.

Who do we share it with?

The licensed plumbing businesses in our group. We check each one holds a current NSW licence. Every request goes to every plumber in the group, so more than one may contact you. The plumbers pay us a fee for each request. We require them to use your details only to respond to your job.

We also use services that host this site and store our records: Vercel (hosts this site), Supabase (stores our records), Slack (alerts our team to a new request) and Twilio (texts that alert to our team). They can only use your details to provide those services to us. We don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Do you use my details for marketing?

No. We don't send you newsletters or offers, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Do we send your details overseas?

Yes, some of them. Supabase stores our records in Japan. Vercel, Slack and Twilio are based in the United States. This site also loads its fonts from Google, which is based in the United States.

How do we keep it safe?

We store your details with the services listed above, and only the people who need them to handle your request can see them. The site uses an encrypted connection. The website itself can only add a new request to our records. It can't read them back.

How long do we keep it?

We keep your details for 24 months, then delete them.

How do I see, correct or delete my details?

Email hello@plumbernorthernbeaches.au. Tell us the mobile number you used and what you would like us to do. You can also take back your consent. We will then stop passing on your details and let the plumbers know. Plumbers who already have your request keep their own records, so you can also ask them directly.

How do I make a complaint?

Contact us first at hello@plumbernorthernbeaches.au and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Its page on privacy complaints explains how, and links to its complaint steps.
